Hello SLES parents and guardians! We have had some new families join our school since September and wanted to post a few reminders for all. Your continued support and cooperation in these areas helps keep our children safe.

1. Students arriving after the beginning of class time (8:15 am) are asked to come to the main entrance to check in to the office and receive a late slip. Only buses are permitted in the bus loop at any time. Please park on the street and walk your student to the main entrance.
2. The parking lot is for staff parking only. When approaching the school, please use extreme caution and avoid walking between parked cars.
3. Non-essential visitors including parents/guardians are not permitted in the school building.  Drop-offs and pick-ups must be done outside. Sycamore Lane will use alternative ways to engage with parents/guardians that does not require you to physically enter the building. Teachers will continue to reach out to you as it relates to your child’s education and well-being.  We encourage you to communicate regularly with the school and your child’s teachers by email or phone.
4. Sycamore Lane Elementary provides a Safe Arrival program for our students.  Through this program we try to ensure that every effort is made to determine each child’s whereabouts on a given school day.  PLEASE call Safe Arrival # 902-864-6733 if 1) your student is going to be ABSENT from school or 2) your student will be arriving LATE. Please call the Safe Arrival line rather than the main line to leave absentee information. If you send a note or an email to your child’s teacher, please also call and leave a voicemail on the Safe Arrival line.
